How Do I Activate My Friday Card? – Friday Help Center

Your new Friday Card arrives in a card mailer that contains a QR code. Scan this code with the camera app on your phone to set a new PIN and activate your card.

Activate your card with the QR code

1 Open the envelope with your Friday Card that you got in the mail.

2 Open the camera app on your mobile phone.

3 Scan the QR code printed in your card mailer.

4 Set your 4-digit card PIN.

You can also activate your card with the QR code from inside the Friday app:

1 From the Home screen, tap the Card tab.

2 Tap Activate Card.

3 Allow Friday permission to access the camera.

4 Scan the QR code printed in your card mailer with the camera on your mobile phone.

5 Set your 4-digit card PIN.

Activate your card with the CVV

If you’re unable to scan the QR code, you can also activate your card with the CVV (the 3-digit security code on the back of your Friday Card).

1 Open the Friday app.

2 From the Home screen, tap the Card tab.

3 Tap Activate Card.

4 Select Yes when asked if you’ve received your Friday Card.

5 Enter the CVV.

You can still activate your card if you don’t have your mailer. Just choose ‘I don’t have my mailer’ in step 4 and follow the prompts.

Good to know

Your virtual card is always active, so you can use it to make purchases while you wait for your Friday Card to arrive in the mail. Visit the Card tab in the Friday™app to find your virtual card details, and add it to Apple Pay™, Google Pay™ or Samsung Pay™ to make purchases on-the-go.

Good to know

When you activate your Friday Card, your virtual card information could change to match your new (physical) Friday Card. Because of this, you might need to update your payment method with merchants if you previously linked your virtual card for payments.
